Gradient

$$\nabla f=\left[\begin{array}{c}\frac{\partial }{\partial x}\\ \frac{\partial }{\partial y}\\ \frac{\partial }{\partial z}\end{array}\right]f$$

The gradient of a scalar field $f$ is a vector field that points in the direction of the greatest rate of increase of $f$. The magnitude of the gradient is the rate of increase in that direction.

Grad takes in a scalar and returns a vector.
